Once upon a time there was a little girl. One day, this girl awoke in a house she did not know and without the comfort of her family. The owner of the house appeared to be earnest, yet the most he could muster to the little girl about the fate of her village was that it was lost. At that moment the child made an oath; she would find out the truth about what occurred there. Over ten years have passed since the day. The young girl grew up into a strong willed woman that is more than willing to kill anything or anybody that stands in her way. At long last, the young woman is ready to embark upon her journey. Reluctantly following her is an amnesiac man that was found along the outskirts of the village the same day she was. Despite being raised as siblings for the past ten years, their polar opposite personalities always manages to raise tension between the two. Is there even the slightest possibility that these two will be able to reach the village of Tsuchihi without strangling the other first?
So, why the hell haven't we updated in about a year and a half?
School, work, and personal life began to take its toll on both me and our lovely artist. By the time we decided to actually take a break, we were already waist deep in one. Not to mention, between the art classes she was taking and the writing classes I was taking, we both began to loathe certain aspects of the comic. But now we're getting back into the swing of things with new motivation and skill sets to make the story better than it was going to be on its' current path.
So what exactly is happening with the comic? We've edited the pages of the comic that had come out as well as fixed some of the dialogue. The first chapter will be posted on here as well as on our new personal website during the next week. After that we will be putting out either two or three pages per week of these new edited pages (I need to check with our artist to be certain how many she wants). This should take us until August when we should be putting out two new pages per week. We've also got some other projects going in the mean time, so I'll post a link to the website next week.
So aside from editing the existing pages, what else did we change? We've retooled some of the basics of the plot, starting with some of the characters motivations and relationships. Some characters felt forced together at best and rapey yaoi-inspired relationships at worst. That doesn't mean no homosexual relationships, it means that the relationships have been reworked to make them occur more naturally even if they start out one sided. At least if they are supposed to develop into a healthy one. ;)
We've also fleshed out a lot of the backstory for the races and the current civil war the world is going through. As such, Reishi's culture has actually taken a bit more of a Indian/Chinese mix than the Japanese/Chinese mix it had. The Japanese culture is still held by the elves, though, so it's not completely gone. One of the questions we actually have for the three readers that might still be loyal enough to continue checking us out.
Should we change Baa-chan's "name"? Obviously it's just a title applied to him, but should we choose one of the Indian or Chinese titles for grandmother to appropriate it with the cultural shifts we made? Our choices would be:
- zu mu
- wai zu mu
Anyone that has any opinion feel free to post it in the comments. If we don't get any input, we'll decide this weekend.
Once again, we're sorry it's taken this long to get back to business, but we've learned a lot on our time off. We even know about how to actually advertise now. Anyways, we hope you take the time to reread the comics as they come out or come back in August to check out the new content.

As updates continue to be slow as far as the comic goes, I was wondering if anybody would want me to post up a weekly piece of concept art? At least we could show you Reishi and Faust' original designs. Just curious, because I feel guilty leaving the comic alone too much.
Also we are at work on our own website. That is being done by someone that is NOT the artist, and should hopefully be up sometime next month. It's technically up...but having your best friend program your site while they're drunk produces interesting websites...that are kinda NSFW.

Sorry about the lateness today; We're missing the dialog and are unfortunately far far away from a computer to do it with. It's done aside from just putting the words in so, we will update tomorrow morning. Sorry!

Sorry about the lack of updates. Both the Artist and my Computer's have been down for the past week. =/ Updates should start up again soon, but will continue to be sporadic until the beginning of December. Then, we will have the artist with a new etablet and no college to interrupt our update schedule. Many apologies again, this has been quite the learning experience.

Thank you all for us reaching 50 fans! =D Lacey (The Artist) and I (The Author) would like to send our apologies for the sudden update drought. Our shader's photoshop somehow messed up and we were not informed of this till yesterday. Hopefully, we should be able to update tonight though. Lastly, Lacey and I would like to say that if and when this happens again, we will hopefully be posting some of her sketches up as filler. Trust me when I say that some of these are hilarious.

Folks, we are now going to update on a Mon,Wed,Fri schedule. Doing daily updates was placing far too much stress on our artist. Hopefully with this schedule, we can update more regularly instead of having to take random breaks. Please continue to read and enjoy the comic. Thanks! =D

Once again we need to take an unfortunate break week long break. The artist was backed up by the convention and work. Updates will once again resume next week.

Sorry guys, one of the artist's comp is down and it'll take about two weeks to get it repaired. Better Days will return on July 19th. See you then!
